A new exhibit titled "Buttons and Bows" is being shown at the Cattaraugus County Museum in Machias.  The exhibit showcases ladies' fashion and accessories from the mid-ninteenth century through the 1960's.  Of particular interest are the extensive collection of ladies' hand fans and hats.  The exhibit will run through April 2012.

A Snowsnake competition to see who can throw a snowsnake (a six-foot long wooden stick) the furthest… at speeds that can reach over 100 miles an hour along a quarter-mile snow track, will be held on February 11.

Showshoeing under the moonlight, eating great food and jamming out to some fine live music.

Tonight Mat Single T presents comedian Kristen Becker.

Kristen was a semifinalist on Last Comic Standing and named one of Curve magazine's "America's Funniest Lesbians".  She has opened for Doug Stanhope, Ani DiFranco and Josh Blue.

A White House Christmas card collection is one of three special exhibitions for the holiday season at The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University.

You've always wanted to try it.................and Pfeiffer Nature Center couldn't make it easier !  The snow loving folks at Paths, Peaks and Paddles will be on hand to fit you for snowshoes, give you a little lesson on how to mosey around then head off to the woods for a guided tour of a winter wonderland.
